Catch Up with Ketchup
Ketchup is all about experimenting with discarded materials and those from donations and second hand avenues. It's about turning mundane products that are so easily thrown away, the stained t-shirts, the frayed jeans, the linen, into new, functional and original products. Hopefully pieces that won't be so easily discarded in their next life.
Ketchup is about education and of passing on techniques and ideas. Over the years Ketchup has carried out all manner of workshops with all manner of partners. It found that people enjoyed engaging with recycling and were keen to develop skills that would help them not only transform their own wardrobes but also help them make better purchasing decisions in the future.
Ketchup is based in Leeds 6, Yorkshire, UK and many of the resources that have gone into making the clothes that you see on this site have come from the waste left behind in the wake of students' departure from their accommodation each year, nicknamed locally as Hyde Park Christmas. Its not been a glamorous job but a necessary one.
